Dennis-Eric, from talking with you I know your background is real estate and in fact it is from this experience that you saw a “void” that you set out to fill by creating the National Fix & Flip Network.  Please tell us more about your background and how your experience led you to where you are today.

Eric-I have been in the real estate business for 16 years and have had a great deal of experience with both the residential and commercial side of real estate.  I was also a broker/lender for over 14 years.  Yes, as you indicated, while working in the residential and commercial arena I realized that there were not any resources for the individual real estate investor.  There was not a common place for them to get valuable information or find reliable contractors, real estate agents, lenders, etc. when purchasing properties outside of their immediate areas.  And so the National Fix and Flip Network was created to be that resource.  It gives real estate investors the tools all in one place to help them with their projects.  The network helps them save time and money and avoid costly pitfalls that often derail or in many cases cause real estate investors to fail.

Dennis-What is the history of the National Fix & Flip Network?

Eric-The company has been in existence for just over a year and a half and the beginning stages were used to work on establishing the network, obtaining members and gathering resources.  The web site was up and running from the beginning but was finalized with our 3.0 version in March of this year.

Dennis-Eric, during our discussion you mentioned your company motto’s. Would you please share those with us here?

Eric-We have two company motto’s Dennis:

The first is “providing the tools to revitalize and stabilize America’s neighborhoods”.  We fell that the real estate investor has been given a bad rap in the past and now they are truly the saviors helping to revitalize and stabilize communities that have fallen into disrepair from the overwhelming foreclosure problem which banks are ill equipped to handle.  Real estate investors are a large part of the stabilization of the housing market.

The second is “buy like the pros”, as we offer discounts through partnerships, coupons, etc. which not only benefit real estate investors but also homeowners looking to get good deals much like our real estate investors receive.

Dennis-You mentioned partnerships and I noticed indication of some of these on your website, can you share with us more information on these partnerships?

Eric-We have a partnership with Scripps Networks, including HGTV and Frontdoor.com to mutually cross promote each other’s web sites and content.  It benefits our members by providing them with useful information including property listings, videos, etc.

The second partnership is with ServiceLive, a division of Sears Holding Company which has a unique system of allowing our members to use pre-screened contractors and name their price and schedule for all contracting work which is not paid for until the customer is satisfied with the work.  It helps our members save time and money.

I’m going to stop here for today and will finish with the second half of my interview with Eric, and the last post of this series, tomorrow.
